To launch Victoria University’s Centenary year, Chancellor Mr George Pappas AO and Mrs Jill Pappas have announced that they are to donate $1 million over the next five years to support scholarships at VU.

One of five key fundraising areas that make up VU’s first major fundraising campaign, the development of the university’s scholarship fund will create even more opportunities for students at all levels of education to have access to world-standard learning.

A self-confessed ‘scholarship boy’ the Chancellor says that ‘as the child of immigrant parents I owe my tertiary education to scholarships, first to do my undergraduate and then at Harvard. Both these qualifications paved the way for my international business career.’

As the University of Opportunity and Success, VU offers the highest number of Access and Equity scholarships of any tertiary institution in Victoria. And with the support of the Chancellor and Mrs Pappas VU will be able to grow this number for the benefit of students for a number of years to come.
